Arctic Region Supercomputing Center Account Application Procedure

To use the Cray X1 at ARSC (Klondike), you need to fill out a hardcopy account application. You also need to provide proof of citizenship and visa status. You can either give these to the instructor (I'll fax them to ARSC and then destroy them) or fax them to ARSC yourself. Here is their description of how they handle this information:

To gain access to the system, the PI and each student must fax proof of citizenship to us at 907-450-8601. For US citizens that is a passport, naturalization certificate or birth certificate. For non-US citizens, that is a passport AND a visa. Students on an F1 or J1 visa, must also fax their form I-20. At our end, we look at these forms, copy some non-sensitive data to yet another form, witnessed by two staff members and then shred the original faxed documents and remove them from the fax machine.
