Khaled A. Harras is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Computer Science at the University of California in Santa Barbara (UCSB). Khaled received a graduate fellowship for outstanding PhD applicants during his first year in the PhD program. He is currently conducting research in the Networking and Multimedia Systems Lab (NMSL) under the supervision of Dr. Kevin C. Almeroth. Khaled is also a member of both the ACM and IEEE.

Prior to coming to UCSB, Khaled Harras received his B.Sc. in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo. He graduated with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude) and received both the "President's Cup" award for the highest gradauting GPA (4.0/4.0), as well as the "Ahmed H. Zewail" prize for excellence in sciences and humanities.
