Here are some of my favorite quotes. I am afraid I have not cited them because they have been gathered over many years, from different cultures and in different languages! Some of them are even mine. Well, here they are:

Ambition/Persistence/Excellence:

- Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

- We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.

- Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody expects of you. Never excuse yourself.

- Success will not lower its standard to us. We must raise our standard to success.

- Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.

- Always aim for perfection.

- Your talent takes you up, your persistence makes you stay there.

Knowledge/Education:

- Science speaks, Wisdom listens.

- I never let schooling interfere with my education.

- Education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten.

Friends:

Love/Marriage/Ladies:

Politics:

- Democracy is the dictatorship of the majority!

- Democracy consists of choosing your dictators, after they've told you what it is you want to hear.
