The Banff Rocky Mountain Resort in Banff is nestled at the base of picturesque Rundle and Cascade Mountains in the Canadian Rockies, 4 km from downtown Banff.  Amenities include a health club, indoor pool, steam room and sauna, squash and tennis courts, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, and chalet-style guest rooms with wood burning fireplaces.  A shuttle service is provided hourly to and from downtown Banff.

Travel
Banff is located 90 miles (145 kilometres) west of Calgary International Airport, about a 1 1/2 hour drive. Coach service to Banff and car rentals are available at the Calgary airport.  For information about getting to Calgary, click here.

There are two main transportation companies that will get you from the Calgary airport to the Banff hotel and back. Banff Airporter (1-888-449-2901 or 1-403-762-3300) seems to be a slightly better deal: $55 round-trip ($30 one-way) with five trips daily. Reservations are suggested but not required. Brewster Transportation (1-800-661-1152 or 1-403-762-6700) costs $34 one-way and has 3-4 trips daily. Travelling time is just under two hours.

Driving directions: From the Calgary Airport, follow the "To City Centre" sign which puts you on Barlow Trail going south. Go west (right) on 16th Ave., which is also Route 1, "Trans-Canada Highway". This takes you through Calgary (lots of stop lights!), then finally into the mountains. When you enter the Banff National Park, stay to the right and go through the gates - you DO NOT have to pay the park fee! (You may have to pay it if you go to areas outside of Banff, but ask the hotel staff about that.) Take the first Banff exit (Banff/Lake Minnewanka), and turn left onto Banff Ave. The Banff Rocky Mountain Resort is the first hotel on the left.
