How to send email using your CS account?
The department's SMTP server will deliver all messages once your email client authenticates using your CS account.
NOTES:
Although the default is still often PORT 25, this relay needs to run over PORT 587 with a secure connection.
Use PORT 587, since many ISPs block outbound SMTP traffic on PORT 25.

You will need the following:
a) Email client which supports the options: SMTP AUTH and STARTTLS
b) Valid CS UNIX account
RELAYING INSTRUCTIONS:
a) Setup your outgoing mail server (SMTP) to stamps.cs.ucsb.edu b) ALWAYS use a secure connection c) Authenticate using your CS account and password
