How to read email using your CS account?

The department"s IMAP server will allow you to read your messages from anywhere once your email client authenticates using your CS account. 
You will need the following:
a) Email client which supports the options: IMAP and SSL
b) Valid CS UNIX account
INSTRUCTIONS:
a) Setup your incoming mail server (IMAP) to letters.cs.ucsb.edu
b) ALWAYS use an SSL connection
c) Authenticate using your CS account and password

NOTES:
*) It usually is the default, but this service, when using SSL, needs to run over PORT 993.
