CS Technical FAQ

You will need the following:

   a) Web browser which supports SSL connections
   b) Valid CS UNIX account

INSTRUCTIONS:
   a) Follow the link to https://letters.cs.ucsb.edu
   b) When queried, enter your CS UNIX account and password.
   c) Fill in the form. 
      Set both START and END dates for duration of your vacation message. 
      Also, edit the message and subject, if needed.

      NOTE: The string, "$SUBJECT", will be replaced with each message's Subject field.

   d) Click on the "Set vacation message >>" Button.
      Vacation will then be enabled 15 minutes following submission
* If you want to deactivate vacation early, goto above URL and click the 'Deactivate' button.
