Why won't the CTL projectors show my desktop?
There are several possible issues that could prevent your desktop from being displayed on the projectors:
- your computer is misconfigured
- the projectors are using the wrong input
- the video switcher is delivering the wrong video to the projectors
Computer Misconfiguration
The most common misconfiguration is simply not export to the external monitor. While the exact method to do this varies from computer to computer, it usually involves the "function keys" at the top of your keyboard.
Projectors Using Wrong Input
Two out of the three CTL projectors use their secondary input to display video - only the projector that points to the corner screen uses it"s primary video input. Unfortunately, the projectors are hard wired to show the primary input when first powered on. To switch to the secondary input simply press the "computer" button one each projector once to switch to the secondary input.
Video Switcher Misconfigured
The video switcher is used to select which one of the many video inputs will be delivered to the projectors. If you have checked the first two issues and you still cannot get your desktop to display, then most likely the video mixer is misconfigured. To confiure it do the following:
- Record the input number that you are using (this is listed on the converter box you connected your computer"s display to)
- Find the video switcher located in the computer cabinet in the rear corner of the CTL
- Press the number of your input, then the number of the output (or outputs if you want to have your desktop displayed on multiple screens), and finally press the "enter" button.
