Non-Java Clients and Services

 

Motivation

Although JICOS is Java-centric, we want it to be useful as middleware. We want it to:

  • enable non-Java clients (e.g., enable C programs and web browsers) to have computation done on their behalf
  • enable non-Java services (e.g., Matlab) to compute on behalf of JICOS clients.

Data flow from an external client through Jicos to an external service

We thereby hope to increase the base of JICOS-mediated clients and services synergistically.
