This page plots the bowling average versus economy rate of bowlers in IPL 2008.
The basic idea is that in Twenty20 cricket, average alone is not sufficient
to see the quality of a bowlers. Economy-rate is also equally important.
This graph shows the relative value of the different
bowler. An ideal bowler would have a low average
with a low economy-rate; towards the left-bottom of the graph.
MouseOver each data point to see the names of the players. Use the controls on the right to filter the data. Note: To replot the scatter plot using only the filtered data, click on "Wickets" and click on "Average vs Economy" again. (Don't blame me, its a quirk of the visualization API.)
