About Me

I am a third year Computer Science PhD student at the University of California Santa Barbara. My Masters was in Computer Science from the University of Chicago and have a BS in Electronic Commerce Technologies from DePaul University. After my undergraduate degree I spent six years working as a software engineer for a variety of e-commerce companies. I am typically a research assitant at the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS) on building tools to help ecologists and at the Distributed Systems Lab working with Professors Divy Agrawal and Amr El Abbadi on distributed information systems. I am currently working Sudipto Das on extending a traditional RDBMS to support a self managed, distributed, and multitenant database system. I am also working in developing tools to aid non-CS reseachers in sharing and exploring datasets over the web (NCEAS, GLOSS). This past summer I could be found in the beautiful city of Seattle working with Amazon Web Services and exploring the Cascades.
