i really don't have much to put down on this page, but here it goes anyways.. i did my schooling all over India.. v'd been switching cities all throughout my childhood (or most of it.. as my dad was in the Indian Army) when v finally (in 1993) settled down in Pune, a city in western India .. now don't mix it with West Indies ;-) .. though my complexion suggests that..
I did my 10th to 12th in Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Dehu Road, Pune.. it was a reunion with many of my friends since i had been in the same school back in std. VI th.. before v moved to Delhi Cantt..
After topping my school :-) for 3 years in a row, i got a massive kick on the butt in the IIT-JEE 1995 .. So i figured that i might as well join COEP (Govt.) College of Engineering, Pune.. this choice was based primarily on the fact that COEP was not strict when it came to attendance ! i was planning to face the JEE again the flg year.. And i finally managed to sail through the IIT-JEE 1996 .. :-)
I have already mentioned some things about my life at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.. btw.. i went to kgp because (i don't know
why) i wanted to do my engg. in comp. sci.. it turned out to b a good choice after all..
at the hind-sight, it appears that the 4 years at kgp were pretty cool.. and 'peaceful' .. but i
still rem'ber those exam days when some of us were running around for some (in fact lots of) last minute
funda..
It was later.. during/after my apping.. that many of us realised that kgp was indeed a good choice..
when as far as i rem'ber.. all of us who apped.. did get schols from good schools in the US..
i ended up selecting University of California, Santa Barbara.. where i am right now.. with a
TA in the Department of Computer Science.

the ones at the above links..
Life in US is pretty cool.. but it is only a matter of about 6-7 years before i move back to India..
(with no offence to US and it's ppl) .. I still haven't discovered the 'thing' which makes so many foreigners
stay away from home and make US their new home..
there r many gr8 things about life in the US.. the best being
the classic rock stations ;-) on the radio which i will certainly miss.. back in india.. but that can be substituted
by a large collection of personal CDs and cassettes..
Another good thing about coming to the US is that i've learnt a lot of cooking.. and thanx to the spl. parampara masale, cooking is really easy !!
If interested, u can have a look at what I do at ucsb.
