Research

My primary interests are complex networks, online social networks (OSNs), security and privacy, and datacenter networks. Much of my work focuses on using measured data to analyze and understand complex networks. OSNs are ideal for these types of studies since they are a tremendous source of massive, rich, dynamic graph data. My interests in security and privacy dovetail nicely with my interest in OSNs, since OSNs have become major targets for malicious activity. Finally, I am interested in the datacenter architectures that power OSNs and other large-scale web services, with a focus on novel network protocols and datacenter-scale applications.
