CIAA 2003 Conference Information

Meeting Location

The conference will be held at the Engineering II Pavilion in the UCSB campus. The location of Engineering II Pavilion is shown on the accompanying UCSB campus map. (Engr II building is close to the East Gate.)

Paper Presentations

We will provide a laptop (for powerpoint presentations), a data projector and overhead projectors at the conference room.

Instructions for Poster Papers: Each poster paper will be provided a 39 inches (wide) x 31 inches (high) posterboard. Each poster board can fit 8 sheets of A4 or Letter size paper. You are advised to use only fonts that are legible from 3-5 feet.

Van Schedule

Computer Access

Computer and Internet access is available in CSIL, Room 1138 in Engineering I. A guest account has been created for CIAA attendees. The location of CSIL is shown on the accompanying map. CSIL is at the south entrance of the Engineering I building on the ground floor.

Reception and Banquet

The locations of the welcoming reception and the conference dinner (banquet) are shown on the accompanying map. The welcoming reception will be held in the area outside Corwin Pavilion at the eastern end of University Center (UCEN). The banquet will take place in the Faculty Club, located in the south-western side of UCSB campus.

Excursion

We are planning an excursion for Friday July 18th afternoon to the nearby quaint Danish town Solvang, followed by historic Santa Barbara locations. Lunch will be provided. Extra tickets for lunch/excursion are $20.

Parking Instructions

All visitors must display a commuter parking permit, which is valid in "C" parking lots only. Permits may be purchased at the kiosks located at either of the campus entrances, or at the Parking Services office. A daily permit costs $7. Visitors without a permit may park in any metered stall. ($0.25 per 10 minutes; maximum duration of 40 minutes.)
