Ambuj Singh

Research interests: multimedia databases, distributed computing, bioinformatics

Ambuj Singh received a Masters in Computer Science from Iowa State University in 1984 and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Texas in 1989. He joined the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1989, where he is currently a Full Professor. His research interests are in the areas of multimedia databases, distributed computing, and bioinformatics.

Petko Bogdanov received his Bachleor of Engineering in Computer Systems and Technology from Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria in 2005. He joined the University of California, Santa Barbara, PhD program in 2006.

Petko's research projects include Molecular Function Prediction in the context of gene functional networks and Efficient Nearest Neighbors Search in large time-evolving graphs.

Kathy Macropol

Research interests: data mining, bioinformatics, graph mining.

Kathy Macropol received her BS in Chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2000, and her MS in Computer Science from Cal State University, Channel Islands in 2007. She joined the University of California, Santa Barbara, PhD program in 2007.

Kathy's current research projects include working on clustering algorithms for large graphs, as well as the mining of time-evolving graphs.
