Dynamic Clouds

As more services become dependent on cloud computing infrastructures, the need arises for applications to be hosted across multiple clouds. A cross cloud application may be needed to serve a latency-sensitive geographically disperse user base, to integrate private and public clouds, or to leverage lower cost transient clouds offered by enterprises with diurnal traffic patterns. Our vision is of the dynamic cloud, that is hosted out of statically provisioned cloud which elastically integrates with other clouds on demand. The dynamic cloud project is exploring protocols and frameworks to support various levels of consistency, state management, autonomic management, and a uniform data access layer.
