Announcements
Thanks for an interesting quarter! Exams and projects will be graded soon. Check back here for the grades....
Here are a couple of visual illusions that I came across recently. The first one, I've never seen before, and it's quite compelling. (The second one is old, but it's a nice version.)
As in the midterm, you can bring one 8.5"x11" piece of paper to the final exam (both sides) for use in the final exam.
Remember the final exam review session - Monday 9am
The "turnin" command is now working....
Interesting item: A conference on Distributed Smart Cameras - camera systems that do much more than just capture images.
There WILL be class on March 8th after all!
See the Assignments page for notes on HW#2 [so far, just one note on problem #1].
HW#2 is available - see the Assignments page. It's due on Wednesday, March 7.
Homework assignment #1 is now posted on the Assignments page.
A note on the slides from class: There are occasionally some slides in there that were not used in class - they show up as "hidden" in the Powerpoint. These generally have extra information that we didn't have time in class to cover, but you should still go through them.
Here are a couple recent job announcements, just to give you one idea of some interesting imaging-related positions.
The slides from 1/9 are posted (click on the date on the Schedule page). Please look over the extra slides, starting with slide #36, that give a preview of the upcoming topics. Also, look through the "Quiz" slide (#59) and think about these questions - which ones do you know the answer to? (How sure are you?)

article
on James Cameron's next movie, "Avatar". Quote:
"The most important innovation thus far has been a camera, designed by Mr. Cameron and his computer experts, that allows the director to observe the performances of the actors-as-aliens, in the film’s virtual environment, as it happens."
