Demo Submissions

FG 2011 will host demo sessions to give researchers the opportunity to showcase live demonstrations of their contributions. The demonstrations are intended to display, in an interactive setting, new methods and technologies, system prototypes, and experimental features of mature systems.

The demonstrations are not limited to papers being presented at the conference, although demonstration of work published at FG 2011 or its workshops is welcome. The primary requirement is that the topic of the demo falls within the broad context of face and gesture recognition.

Prospective demo participants should fill out and submit an application form and videos, describing the demonstration and listing requirements (space, power, internet, etc.). All submitted demos will be reviewed, and decisions will be based on the degree of appropriateness and quality for FG 2011. The demos will be included in the conference proceedings as one page abstracts. At least one presenter for each demo must be registered for the conference.

Demonstrations from academia, government, and industry are welcome. However, note that the display and marketing of commercial products must instead be arranged as part of the exhibition program.

Important Dates:

  • Application deadline: December 10, 2010
  • Acceptance notification: January 7, 2011
  • Camera-ready one page demo description: January 19, 2011
For further information about demos please contact Ming-Hsuan Yang at mhyang at ucmerced.edu.

Exhibit Submissions

FG 2011 will host exhibits from industry to give companies and labs the opportunity to showcase live demonstrations of their contributions. The organizing committee encourages companies and labs to showcase the effectiveness of methods developed in the past conferences and currently being developed, so long as they fall within the broad context of face and gesture.

Prospective exhibit participants should fill out and submit an exhibit application form. All the submitted exhibits will be reviewed and selected based on the degree of appropriateness and quality for FG 2011. The minimum sponsorship for each exhibit is $ 1000.

Important Dates:

  • Application deadline: January 31, 2011
  • Acceptance notification: February 15, 2011
For further information about demos please contact Ming-Hsuan Yang at mhyang at ucmerced.edu.
