Announcements
Thanks for an interesting seminar this quarter, and have a great summer! I hope to see some of you at UCSB in the years to come....
You are all invited to come and visit my research lab - the Four Eyes Lab - on Wednesday, May 24th, from 1-2pm. Another freshman seminar is visiting then to see what the lab is all about, so any of you who are interested can feel free to join. We'll give an overview of the lab's research and probably show some demos. Directions to the lab are here.
Reminder: UCIRA State of the Arts Conference, May 19-20 at UCSB
Here's info on an interesting set of ITCP-related talks at UCSB on Thursday May 4th, 2-5pm - A Symposium on Alternative Networks
Note that the reading assignment for May 9th includes spending some time (at least 15 minutes!) perusing in some depth one of the links on the Links page. You may be asked to describe one of these in class.
The reading assignment for April 25 is now posted, although check back here later in the week - I may add something (small) to it. [Update: No, that's all!]
Reminder: NO CLASS on Tuesday, April 11th!
See the Syllabus page for info on the book we'll be reading through. See the Schedule page for the reading assignments. Keep in mind that it's your job to come to class having done the reading and prepared to discuss it!
If you're interested in seeing a presentation on the AlloSphere that was mentioned in class (this is the large, spherical immersive environment that will be part of the new CNSI building on campus - see http://www.mat.ucsb.edu/allosphere), then drop by the CITS Technology and Research Showcase (in the UCen Corwin Pavilion) on Monday during 8:00-8:45am or 4:15-5:45pm. This is part of the "Santa Barbara Forum on Digital Transitions." For more information see http://www.transitions.cits.ucsb.edu/.
First class meeting is on Tuesday, April 4 at 5:00pm in Building 387 Room 103
We will meet seven times - there will be no class meeting on April 11, May 16, or May 23
