I am Ping Wu. In Feburary 2008, I recieved my Ph.D. from Department of Computer Science, University of California, Santa Barbara. Born and raised in Shanghai, I received my B.S. from Fudan University, China in 2003.

During my Ph.D. study, I was affiliated with Distributed System Laboratory (DSL) working with Prof. Divyakant Agrawal and Prof. Amr El Abbadi. Among all the exciting technologies in the realm of computing, my interests lie in the synergy between data management (at a large scale) and information retrieval. In particular, I feel passionate in investigating the application of traditional database techniques in the context of distributed, heterogeneous and unstructured environments.
