The steering committee for ACM COSN is now
looking for location proposals to host the next iteration of the
ACM Conference on Online Social Networks. COSN 2013 was a
highly successful event that brought together experts from
diverse fields interested in cutting edge research on social
networks and systems. It was held in October 2013 on the
Northeastern University campus in Boston, MA. We are now
soliciting proposals to host COSN in 2014!
Please send any proposals as a plain text/HTML/PDF document to
ravenben
@ cs.ucsb.edu before the deadline of
December 1, 2013. A
proposal should include information on the following:
- Why do you want to host COSN? (a short paragraph
will be fine, 200 words or less please)
- Where? Details on the actual venue where COSN would
be held, hotel, university campus, research lab...
- Who will be the general chair and who will serve as local
arrangement chair(s)?
- Where is the nearest airport, and what is the approximate
cost to get there from:
- US East coast, US West coast
- Europe
- Asia
- What are the nearby hotels, and expected room rates per
night?
- If the venue is a hotel, does COSN need to book a block of
rooms?
Once the deadline for proposals passes, the steering
committee will choose the site for COSN'14 and inform
proposers of the decision.
