Troy Steinbauer
My name full name is Troy William Steinbauer and I am a Masters student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I received my Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering at UCSB in June 2010. I am supporting myself though graduate school working as a Research Assistant, a Teaching Assistant, and holding an internship as a developer for a IT Consulting Company. In my spare time I enjoy surfing and playing water polo, and occasional video gaming. A copy of my resume can be found here.

Research
I currently am a Research Assistant for UCSB's CURRENT Lab. Led by professor Ben Zhao, the CURRENT Lab covers a wide range of large-scale networked systems, more recently focusing on Online Social Networks. Most recently I have been working with Christo Wilson on developing a distributed online social network that will grant users greater privacy without sacrificing any functionality.

Teaching
I have been a Teaching Assistant for a few classes at UCSB. This can consist of directly interacting with students, leading discussions, creation and grading of homework and exams, and private office hours.
