Important Announcements

(2/20)

Important requirements for assignment #2 and class project.

You must electronically turn in your codes, data and reports. Emailing or sharing on Google drive is no longer accepted.

To verify that your account is validated on csil-xx.cs.ucsb.edu, try ssh csil.cs.ucsb.edu. If you cannot login with your credential, please send an email to support@cs.ucsb.edu, stating that you are taking CS/ECE 281b and you need your ECI account validated on CSIL in order to electronically turn in your assignments for grading. Such requests should be fulfilled within a day, but do submit your request early.

If you never used the turnin program before, please check out the instruction page or send me an email if you have any question. In particular, if your turnin comprises many files, you can zip (tar, rar, gz, etc.) all files into a single file and turn that file in.

Please read the assignment handoutscarefully and follow the requirements stipulated there. Not following the requirements (e.g., missing certain important descriptions in your report) can be ground for point deduction.

(2/10) The second assignment and class project have been posted. Please check the Homework page.

(1/31) The deadline of assignment #1 is pushed back a week to 2/18 (Sunday) due to OpenCV not yet installed on CSIL. A request has been made to CS Support and it should be installed very soon.

(1/29) The programming assignment #1 link was posted incorrectly. The mistake has been correct. Please follow the Homeork Assignment link to view it.

(1/10) Currently, this course is full (both CS and ECE sections). Without TA and reader support, it is not possible to admit additional students. However, I plan to give an overview of the topics to be covered in the 1st week and afterward, I expect people who already know the material to drop. So please check back with me the 2nd week if you are still interested.
