UCSB Leadership Awards go to Computer Science department!

The UCSB Division of Student Affairs annually recognizes outstanding
student leaders and student organizations for their contributions to
campus life from across the entire campus. This year two people in
Computer Science were selected for recognition: Mike Rosengarten, a
4th year undergraduate, was honored for his leadership in revitalizing
the student Chapter of the ACM (the professional organization for
computer science), and Dr. Tim Sherwood was chosen as the campus-wide
Outstanding Organization Advisor for 2009. These honors are awarded
by a selection committee of students, staff, and faculty from across
the campus and chosen from hundreds of nominations.

“These students are simply amazing” said Dr. Sherwood, “It is as an
honor to help advise such an energetic and motivated group of young
computing professionals at UCSB. “I think the support we are getting
from local companies, generous individuals, and extraordinary students
such as Mr. Rosengarten is making a tremendous difference”.

Congratulations!
